John D. Heinsen

CEO & Executive Producer, Bunnygraph Entertainment

John and his company Bunnygraph Entertainment, work with writers, talent, and technologists to create serialized formats for television, interactive/web and mobile platforms in what he calls “Storytelling through Advanced Content”.  His projects include the 86th Academy Awards, where he recently completed his third year as Transmedia Producer (Director of Production) overseeing all web, mobile and social media for Oscar.com and The Oscars Backstage (Emmy Winning 2nd Screen Experience) via the WatchABC app as well as the indie feature A TIGER’S TAIL, produced by Epic Pictures.


John’s 20 year career in entertainment includes experience as Manager of Primetime Programming at the FOX Broadcasting Company, where he creatively helped oversee series such as “Family Guy”, James Cameron’s “Dark Angel”, and “That 70′s Show”.   He has also worked directly with brands such as Starbucks and Gap while part of the New Media/Branded Entertainment and Television Packaging Divisions of International Creative Management (ICM) and has produced television projects for Castle Rock Entertainment.


A well regarded thought leader on digital entertainment and technology; John is a regular panelist and moderator at Digital Hollywood, CTIA, The Circle Conference (Abu Dhabi, UAE) and most recently The Amplify Festival (Australia).  For the last four years, John has led a Master Class on Transmedia Storytelling at the Pi-Fan Fantastic Film Festival in Bucheon, South Korea designed to introduce digital storytelling and social media best practices to film students from across Asia.


John currently serves as the Chairman of the New Media Council for the Producers Guild of America (PGA) and also serves on their National Board of Directors.  Originally from Chicago, he received his MFA in 1996 while a Producing Fellow at the American Film Institute (AFI) Conservatory and in 1994 received a BFA in Media Arts from the University of Arizona.
