Dale Zak

Co-Founder and CTO, OneStory

Dale is a true believer in the power of technology and the power of story to change our world for the better. A technology superstar, he has contributed to numerous open source projects as well as coordinates a number of his own social good initiatives.

Our co-founder has used his skills as a developer to make apps that have empowered the disadvantaged and engaged the indifferent. His work with organizations like the Ushahidi and UNOCHA are a constant inspiration for our team.

His technological vision for OneStory continues to evolve, fulfill and surpass expectations. Combining his talent as a mobile app developer with Katrina’s talent for getting stories out into the world makes us all believers too.

Dale has had the opportunity to speak at a number of conferences, including at NetChange Week in Toronto on micro volunteerism, Internet & 21st Century Revolutions in Madrid on the role of crowdsource mapping played in the Arab Spring revolution, Techcamp in Vilnius Lithuania on how mobile apps can help NGOs in eastern European countries, iHub in Nairobi on good mobile app design principles, and eStats in Malaga on using mobile apps to empower citizens.
