Chris Harris

Vice President, Strategy & Business Development, Secret Location

Chris Harris is an Emmy-winning media professional and content leader with 15 years of experience as a digital production executive, business leader, media strategist, interactive producer and journalist.

Before joining Secret Location in 2013, Chris was Shaw Media’s first ever Head of Social Media, responsible for the company’s enterprise social strategy across all broadcast brands including Global and 19 Specialty TV channels such as Food Network Canada, HGTV Canada, Showcase, History and Slice.
Prior to this, Chris led the Digital Content teams at Shaw Media and Canwest (via Alliance Atlantis) as both Director and Head of Online Content. In this time, Chris helped lead the creation of globally recognized award-winning work, which resulted in significant growth in unique visitors, visits, engagement, and revenue.

Prior to joining Alliance Atlantis/Canwest, Chris spent more than seven years as an award-winning interactive producer and journalist with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, working in Sports, News, Kids and TV.

Chris has spoken at and appeared on juries at several festivals & conferences including SXSW, the Banff World Media Festival, Promax-BDA, nextMEDIA and Merging Media. This past March, he was awarded at Canadian Screen Award for his work on Continuum Interactive.
